Calm-abiding: Developing Meditative Concentration

Calm-abiding (shamatha in Sanskrit) is a state of deep meditative concentration accompanied by physical and mental pliancy and bliss. This is the main subject matter of this series of teachings given by Geshe Ngawang Samten, based on a classic text written by Lama Tzong Khapa called The Great Treatise of the Path to Enlightenment (Lamrim Chenmo in Tibetan). The teachings are translated by Ven Thubten Yeshe and transcripted by Wai Cheong Kok.

Here are the transcripts of a year-long course where Geshela gave detailed commentary on this text.

More to come: self-study questions, summaries, and guided meditations. So, watch this space!
